I went to the ATM the one Saturday and went to a specific ATM which at this time the machine started going funny looking like it was a casino machine. I pressed cancel the whole time to return my card which it did not want to do, I ran inside the bank and asked for someone to assist me. The lady that came up to me and my son disappeared somewhere and finally when we got to the query teller the woman said monies was being transferred between my inter accounts and R5000 withdrawn same time. A case and everything was opened at the bank. The very next day my daughter in law wanted to go draw money at the same place - people in front of us had exactly the same thing happen whilst we were there - we left immediately not thinking twice to go through the same thing again. The bank called me a week or so later to tell me I had lost the R5000 which was withdrawn form my account and it looked like it was a case of theft. This bank has done me in. I have been with Std Bank for over 30 - 40 years and all they can turn around is say sorry I lost my R5000 - what the hell do I pay insurance for on my account - and I reported it whilst it was happening - the bank should atleast pay this money back
