***** case

I opened up a ***** case with standard bank on the 24th of June 2017, what happened was money was withdrawn in my account for an amount of R7500 and they decline my query because they claimed that the original card and pin was used to withdraw the money and for the fact that I don't have my card in possession. The reason I do not have my card with me it is because my car was vandalised by my ex boyfriend and was taken to the panel beaters so I had no chance to search the car as I was rushed to hospital, and I know I had my card with me because I used it around 10pm that very friday. What they are failing to explain to me is how did my withdrawal limit go from R1000 to R7500 and when? why did I not receive notification smses? and where the money was withdrawn?, because at the time the money was withdrawn I was still at the crime scene and the car was still with me. And I did dispute the verdict with the bank but they are still not giving me answers to all the questions I asked. I went to standard bank at Eastgate mall to find out how my withdrawal limit was increased they told me they can not help as the matter is now with the ***** department and that I should call and ask them and when I called the ***** department and they referred me back to the bank.Today I made my last attempt by calling to find out what the verdict was (as I was told they will revisit my case) and get answers to all those questions I had, I was told to take the matter up with the ombudsman. Is not the bank's responsibility to protect my money and do we not have withdrawal limits in place for suc
h times, if my limit can be increased without following any security measures, what are my rights towards this matter, please help.
