On the 29th of July 2016 I reported a *****ulant transaction on my bank account. An amount of R3000 were transfered from my account to an unknown cell number. As soon as I saw the notification sms on my phone I called the help line. A case was opened (000470) and I was advised by the letter at the viking epping branch to also get an avidavit and send it to the online ***** department. They told me they woul call me to get more details. Five weeks have passed and no one has called me, I had to call every 2nd week to get updates on the case. Today marks 5 weeks and I have been told that I won't be getting my money back as standard bank feels they have warned their customers about ***** so they not to blame. Firstly I am also not to be blamed because of what happened to me I could not pay my accounts and the crefit providers are now threatening me with a bad credit record even though I informed them of what happened. Secondly I asked standard bank on the day that this hapoened if they could not assist me by giving me a letter as prove that they have a ***** case pending on my account so that I could have proof for my credit providers as they might feel that I may be taking a chance, they told me they do not have and cannot give me such a letter. They even asked me to get an affidavit to make my case stronger which I got but it did not make a difference. They say they warn you about ***** but yet they have people calling you to sell their products now how are you suppose to trust the ones calling you when your money disappears out of your account. The same product mind you that caused my R3000 to be ****** out of my account. Last year the atm took my husbands money and gave back the card while he was trying to make a payment at the atm without giving him proof that the payment was made and standard bank also had a problem in rectifying his account. I am a standard bank customer for 19 years but am now fed up of there service.
