Faulty Standard Bank Credit card machines
I visited the Ocean Basket in Peter Place Bryanston. My bill came to R237.00. I havean FNB visa credit card that I used. The Standard Bank credit card machine took quite a while and then printed out a slip that the transaction was rejected.
I then used an American Express credit card. Machine again took a while, rejection slip again printed out. A minute later the waitress came to me and showed me a slip that the R237 was approved on my American Express card.
As I left, I received an sms on my phone that the R237 had come off my FNB credit card. I ran to the manager and he printed the credit card transactions from both his machines and he could only see the transaction on the American Express card.
I got home and phoned FNB - they indicated that the R237 has come off my card but is uncleared. Lone behold for me to get my money back, I have to get hold of Ocean Basket and give them an authorisation number and hope they reverse the transaction. Nothing else I can do on my side to reverse the transaction.
Standard Bank PLEASE reverse the R237 on my FNB card. This is extremely poor. Ocean Basket also should have indicated that they were having problems with Standard Bank's machines
