False Statements from Standard Bank ***** Department
All Standard Bank customers, be aware of the security risk your money may be exposed to. Recently a ********** beneficiary was set up on our church bank account to which a number of ********** EFT’s were made. On reporting it to the Standard Bank ***** Department and after their investigation, they sent a letter explaining their findings, denying any liability of the Standard Bank and passing all liability on to the customer. However, part of their report included totally false statements such as the last transaction that took place on the account was in 2018 and that transaction SMS’s were sent. These false statements have been proven false from available evidence. However, when requesting an explanation, another report was issued simply removing the false statements without any explanation. Numerous requests to ***** Department to explain these false statements have just been ignored to the point where I requested a conference call with a senior person to explain. This senior person first conducted what was understood to be a high-level review. Unbelievably when questioned in the conference call about the letter with the false statements, he stated that he was not aware of it and a copy had to be sent back to Standard Bank, again requesting an explanation. Unbelievably again after what was about the 8th review, another letter was received, still without any refence to the letter with the false statements but repeating that the customer is totally liable and not Standard Bank. This can only lead to the suspicion that the ***** Department are not wanting to acknowledge that they have a problem or are hiding it and are hoping that it will just go away. How can one have any trust in their faceless ***** investigations denying any liability, while at the same time issuing false statements. They are quick to lay full liability on the customer without evidence, while at the same time issue false statements and then respond as if they did not exist. Our church, and as well as myself personally, have been Standard Bank customers for over 30 years, but this just destroys any confidence in the security of one’s money in Standard Bank. It is astounding that such questionable and suspicious actions of the ***** Department are taking place in an organization that is highly regarded. It has also been demonstrated that there is absolutely no interest in long-standing customers.
