Failure to pay claim

We had to repair a gate motor over the christmas period which was hit by lightening. We called Standard Bank to confirm if would be reimbursed if we paid it and used our trusted and regular service provider. Penny, in the claims department assured us it would be - all we needed to do was email the invoice and relevant information. We did and heard nothing for two weeks.

We then called and spoke to Ethen James - also in the claims department who AGAIN assured us the matter would be dealt with. We were given a number to call to speak to Ethen directly. This number just rings and rings. Along with the other numbers we were given. We have now tried to call repeatedly with no luck and have sent the necessary email to a number of email addresses including Ethen and Penny four times and still we have heard nothing.

This kind of continued service from Standard Bank and it's clearly *********** staff is disgraceful. We have a policy with them/ a legally binding contract which stipulates they are obligated and responsible to take care of matters like this.

The copy of invoice is on my Tablet - I am sending this from my desktop computer. But all then documents requested (only an invoice) have been submitted to Standard Bank now close to half a dozen times.

Absolutely unacceptable! They have continuously messed us around and point blank **** and failed miserably to deliver on their promises.

I have AGAIN a few minutes ago tried to call this number - ********** - which was given to us - for the exact purposes of following up on this (the fact that we have to in the first place is pathetic)

And this number - ***- you are kept waiting for AGES.

It’s ridiculous!

This automated response does nothing more than add insult to injury. Your organization is not only not committed to providing the best possible service but has zero idea of what that even means. Rightfully, I should employ the services of a solicitor and sue for emotional distress caused to my aging father, loss of income as I get paid per hour and have spent too many on this nonsense and I'm quite sure there are a few other things that could easily be added to that list including BREACH OF CONTRACT!

Your "organization" - a word you should feel embarrassed to employ - has wasted our time repeatedly via email and telephonically. Has **** and disappointed and FAILED colossally to deliver on a singular thing you have promised. Your LACK of "organization" is full of *********** imbeciles.
