EMPLOYEE EXTRAORDINAIRE

As a firm believer that good service must be acknowledged and recognised, I had to write this for public recognition of a gem. Today I went to the Standard Bank Branch in the Mall of Rosebank since I have never had a reply to a query which I emailed to STD bank credit card accounts head office regarding charges on my account. The front desk of this branch is manned by a person named Mr Manqoba Nkwanyana. I waited near the front desk for my ticket to be called, which anyone knows can be quite a lengthy period given the customers ahead of one. My proximity to the front desk was so close that I could not help but observe him as he assisted other customers and went about his job. I found myself captivated by his easy welcoming and friendly demeanour. Many people in such a position understandably having seen countless faces walk through the entrance of any public business would be robot like by 3:30pm. What I saw was not just a person totally willing to assist everyone who approached him but even beyond that, he does his job with an an attitude of such kindness and positive vibey energy that as I was leaving the bank, I could not resist going directly to him to commend his wonderful attitude and professionalism. He was quite taken aback at this which made it even more relevant that he was told to his face what an awesome job he was doing. Inspiring to see a person so welcoming and sincerely wanting to help. Felt quite lifted after encountering him. I do hope that he is valued by his employers because man alive, I reckon he should be head hunted for CEO of anywhere. Diane Allen
