Early Cancellation fee even though notice in place
My wife and I have sent Standard bank Home loans numerous notices of intention to cancel bond since 14 October 2014. We have proof of submission and have battled to receive confirmation of such notice being in place from Standard Bank despite numerous attempts. They claim to have repeatedly sent confirmation of notice to a cell phone number which is one digit out from mine. Mr Dekker called me on 26 January 2015 to apologize for the maladministration. We have subsequently sold our property. The transfer attorneys informed us today that Standard bank is charging early settlement interest of R14185 on this bond. This after being assured by Mr Dekker that this would not happen.
Disgusted. We have a size-able amount to invest from the sale of this property and another. You can be assured that Standard Bank will not see a cent of this investment.
Please attend to the problem and fix it properly this time.
Good day Sean
