DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH STANDARD BANK

My elderly mother asks the info lady where she can get proof of address (trying to wrap up m deceased father's estate) - the lady says they can't give it to her without \freezing her account\". She needs to go and wait in line for a teller to give her bank statements. Ok. Get to the teller. Teller points out that the bank statements don't have her address on it. Came back empty handed<br> <br> Standard bank, what is this nonsense about freezing accounts. Secondly, since when can't you issue a proof of address. In case you haven't noticed, the POST OFFICE DOES NOT WORK AND WE DO NOT RECEIVE BANK STATEMENTS ANYMORE. NOT EVERYONE HAS EMAIL ADDRESSES. Let's have an elderly lady commute up and down because you can't be bothered to help or give legitimate info. I am advising my mom to take her account and investments away from your bank. PATHETIC!!"
