DISMISSIVE RESPONSE TO A VALID REQUEST

I am totally gobsmacked having sent an email to Standard Bank reporting my experience at the Rosebank branch last week. I then went on to twitter today to publish tweet directly to STD Bank referring to the mattter that I had not had a reply. Only then did someone reply to my email It took almost a week to get a very dismissive reply from someone who could not have bothered to read the content of my original email where I stated that I had gone, as one does and limits ones time during the disatster lockdown regulations by setting aside a day and a time to pay accounts, shop etc, I got th the Std Bank ATM only to find that they were inoperable due to repairs and was forced to go into the bank to do my deposit. I then waitied close to an hour. There was nobody monitoring the customers, two of which were coughing and sharing seats marked "do not sit here" due to said pandemic. Nobody was monitoring the waiting area. A staff member pushed to the front of one queue saying it was a matter of in and out but took over 20 min. I emailed the bank to ask if the counter/teller deposit fees could be waived given this situation which was out of my control and I received a very dismissive reply from someone appearing not to have paid any attention to the contents of my original email. this is an excerpt of the reply which I found dismissive to my actual request: "Please note that there is a fee for deposits made inside the branch (teller)". My explanation adequately provided information that I had no choice due to the ATM's being inoperable. One is permitted one free depsoit at the ATM p/m A week to reply in a dismissive manner is disappointing and undeserving at any time but especially during this awful period in the economy and in general.
