Disgusting behaviour
31 January 2025. It's seems like decades ago that I bought a BMW 320i, only to have it break two hours later. A private sale, but financed by Standard Bank.
They offered me no help from the start. I had the car for two hours and it broke. I could not return, as the private seller had to give his ok. Of course he wouldn't.
I even spoke with the CEO of Standard Bank VAF, but was just sent on to speak to some of his employees, who also couldn't help.
I tried to come to an agreement, maybe we could meet in the middle? I had spent R200 000 in fixing THEIR vehicle. I bought it for R140 000.
The vehicle is a write off. Engine kept breaking. I kept fixing it, hoping that it would be the last time. It never was. They towed the car, without an engine at the start of this month.
This vehicle has ruined me financially and now Standard Bank wants to put the finishing touches in.
They handed me over to Tim Du Toit, who's legal costs I now have to also pay. This after I kept in contact with them throughout. Even telling them where the vehicle was.
Disgusting behaviour, by a bank who has considerable financial and legal backing and cares absolutely NOTHING for their clients.
