Delayed merchant transactions

On numerous occasions I have noticed that when I swipe my cheque card actual amount only goes through a couple days later ? I dont get an sms notification and the available balance on my account remains the same ? Yesterday I used my card at the Food *****s market and my wife also used her FND card at the same till point and her transaction went off immedualtey but I'm still waiting for mine to go off ? I called the STD bank call centre and gave some mumbo jumbo story about the store only banking the next day but then why did it go off my wifes account immediatley ? I also check the STD bank app on my cell phone and it has not gone off there as well ? This is happening a bit too frequently now ...I was once charged R120 for an ' Honering Fee ' becasue there was notenough funds in my account hen the tranasction EVENTUALLY went off even though there were funds in the account on the actual day of purchase ?
