Deceased Estates Disaster. Avoid.

Standard Bank Trust/Deceased Estates.. the level of so called service is shocking.

We are still waiting, 2yrs 7months down the line for the winding up of my fathers estate. I would have understood if the estate was complicated, with many assets that required administration or settlement, but the estate is probably one of the simplest that Standard Bank would ever have had to deal with.

According to the executor, the file went to the Master in May of 2022 - and as of September, apparently the file is 'lost'.. and Standard Banks suggestion?? Is to charge the estate to appoint an agent to go and physically search for the file... WHY SHOULD THE HEIRS CARRY THIS COST?

Since then.. we receive little to no feedback, and even when we do, after having to follow up constantly... its generic:

"We were at the Master of the High court today and the Query sheet was not issued by the Master"

But when questioned if the file has actually been found??? Nothing. No reply. No feedback.

So the file gets more and more 'lost' - and Standard Bank profits by taking their percentage of the interest earned... The less they do, the more they make.
