Deceased Account

My father passed away earlier this year followed shortly by Covid-19 pandemic and a National Lock down which turned everything upside down. I have notified Standard Bank that my father's account is to be closed and supp**** the death certificate, copy of will and id documents etc. They requested a letter of Executorship which I am now waiting to be issued by the Master of the High Court. However, whilst waiting on this, Standard Bank continue to send SMS's and now threatening legal action. This is very disappointing customer service especially since my father was a loyal customer for over 40 years, and I have been a customer for almost 40 years! Is there no way you can indicate on the account that this deceased account is in a process or at the very least change the contact number to mine so that my distraught 80 year old mother does not get your automated communication about her late husband! I have emailed and called the contacts provided on said messages to no avail. After this debacle is over, I will be considering closing my Standard Bank account and I will advise my mother (and anyone else I know) to do the same.
