I have received various calls from Standard Bank today stating that my Home Loan payment for the month is overdue. Standard Bank has managed to retrieve the funds on their own via a debit order for the past 40 months - but suddenly there is a problem.

There is and always has been more than enough funds available in my FNB account, so there is no reason for a returned debit order. FNB has confirmed that they have received NO debit order request at all this month.

My debit order was initially set up to go off on the 22nd of every month. Somehow, without my authorisation, Standard Bank has changed the date to the 24th on their system - which results in accusatory phone calls on the 23rd of the month to ask why I have missed a payment.

I have been forced to share my bank statements to prove that I am in good standing, because Standard Bank persist in blaming me for the failure.... which is quite obviously caused by their mismanagement.

I have on 2 different occasions called their call centre, but no one can tell me who authorised the change in date or rectify the problem.

Should a \late payment"negatively affect my credit record i will take action against Standard Bank."""
