Deactivated cards and internet banking
Hi
After my debit card was ****** on 22/04, I dactivated the card but R3000 somehow got withdrawn from my linked business account. So, I went to Standard Bank the same day to report the matter, open up a ***** case and get a new card. They gave me a new card.
I tried using the card on the 26/04 but the ATM swallowed my card which I paid R145 fee for. My internet banking was also blocked. I was told to go to the bank and get a new card which I did. The consultant put my on hold for an hour with the call center and I was told to link the card by logging in to my banking profile. I tried this and it didn't work. I was told to come back next week.
So, now I am sitting with no Debit card for my savings account(which was swallowed by the ATM), a cheque card for my business account which has been deactivated, a debit card for my business account which has also been deactivated and also my internet banking has been deactivated.
I suppose the bank is also going to charge my R145 for each of the 3 cards again. This is not right as I already lost R3000 and Standard Bank want to make additional money from me.
Regards, Terence
