Damned if you do or not!
I pay my accounts as soon after my salary reflects on my account. Mostly I pay on or a day or so after payday. In December we are paid on the 15th, so I was near my PC so I paid all my accounts so as not to spend any account money on Christmas gifts. Today I get a sms saying my account is in arrears! The billing period is FROM the 15th '15 to the 13th '16. But the system credited my December payment to November! Now I have a mark against my credit record for doing the rite thing!
