Credit card that was closed over 10 years ago magically appeared!!!
Ten years ago I closed my Standard bank credit card. The consultant still asked me twice if I really wanted to do this, and she cut the card in front of me. I still had to pay the remaining outstanding amount to close the account...
Today I went to close my cheque account, paid the overdraft. Guess what!!!! The credit card was active, and I owed around R2500!!! Me as a lady over 60 had to dug up that amount of money for a service I did not know of and did not use... apparently I had to call to close my account which I was never informed of...
Never had any calls or trace of this that I owed any money. Disgusted!
