Credit Card that gives lounge access does not give lounge access

I got a Prestige Banking credit card with Standard Bank, a primary reason being the lounge visits. I normally spend far above the required spend to gain lounge access, and am travelling this month. However I do not have lounge access because coincidentally my spend from last month was below the limit. My spend for this month is more than THREE times the limit. Even called the help center and they said there is nothing they can do I must pay for my lounge entry. What was the point in getting the card if it is essentially arbitrary when I will get lounge access?
