Credit card settlement discount

On the 19th I wrote an email to Standard bank requesting a settlement discount on my credit card, stating my situation that has led to the request. Firstly they took their time to even respond to my email and I had to send another email on the 22nd and ask if they have received my email or had the chance to go through it. I then got a response from Warren Dix saying the amount they are unable to give me a settlement discount on the value. I also received emails from Fanelwa Williams and Sello Khoza saying credit cards dont have a settlement discount. I don't understand how is this possible because from my knowledge other banks do offer settlement discounts. Its Friday today and I would like to close this matter before the end of the business day so I can start making arrangements for my medical bills, knowing where I stand. I didn't know that my medical aid won't cover all the medication bills hence I came forward as soon as I was made aware. I'm humbly requesting that my matter gets addressed as soon as possible, as I dont only want to settle the credit card but close it completely.
