Credit card hacked on 16th November - still awaiting feedback from Standard Bank

At 21h37 on 16th November I received an sms notification on my phone, then another one and yet another one. When I looked at the notifications I saw they were all from Standard Bank and for purchases on my credit card that were not mine. The notifications read: Standard Bank: R8684.64 purchased from *** at MANGO-EUR. Avl bal R*******x 2016-11-16 Query? ********** 107 - and there are two more like this with different amounts going to MANGO-EUR.

I very, very seldom use my credit card so I was shocked to watch my Avl bal diminishing as the sms notifications came in. I immediately phoned the ********** 107 number and spoke to a very helpful lady called Jabu. She stopped my credit card while I was on the phone and commented that she could still see the hackers trying to use the card as she was stopping it. She told me a case of ***** would be opened and gave me the case number: ********** . She said that the bank's ***** division would contact me within three to six working days and that she would arrange for a new credit card to be sent to my local branch.

Then I waited and waited. Nearing the end of November it struck me that I had not heard anything back from the ***** division or anyone else at Standard Bank so I called again (26th November) and spoke to Gabisile. It was a Saturday and apparently the ***** division doesn't work on the weekends (why not?) but she assured me she would make a note on the case and email the ***** division. She gave me a contact number for the ***** division ( ********** 058) for future use.

Then I waited - again. On 7th December, having still not heard anything from Standard Bank, and realising that I was going to get a credit card statement from the bank, I phoned again to follow up. I spoke to Sibongile. She tried to be helpful, I tried to be polite. I told her that I thought the "service" I had received from the bank to date was appalling and I really had expected there to be some follow up. I also told her I actually didn't want the credit card anymore (still have not received it or any follow up on that) and that I would NOT be paying any funds back to the credit card division for the money that was ****** from the credit card account.

Then I received a credit card statement. I phone again - 9th December and spoke to Avula. It seems there is some "glitch" in the ***** division's investigation or some "thing" that no one can tell me about and they are waiting for that to be sorted out. In the mean time I have a credit card I can't use (and don't want), a credit card statement which indicates I need to pay funds I didn't use and NO ONE from the bank has bothered to phone, follow up, email, be able to answer my questions.

I have been a customer of Standard Bank for many years and have to say that this is possibly the worst service I have ever received from them. The general lack of interest in my case and the fact that they have not EVER contacted me annoys me beyond believe. At all times when I have called I have had to explain the whole story from the beginning even though I have a ***** case number. I'm not sure what the next step is - apparently someone will contact me from the bank - but I've heard that every other time I've called.

Standard Bank - you are definitely not moving me forward - you are simply driving me NUTS!
