Credit card declined for no reason

I am FUMING!!! I withdrew maximum amount cash from my current account at ATM today and then went grocery shopping at Pick n Pay. A substantial trolley which took me over an hour to accumulate. At the tills the charge of R1,800 was declined, although I have more than enough credit available. I am certainly never late paying my cc account in full every month so NO FAULT ON MY SIDE.

This is not PnP's fault! The butcher declined my Standard Bank credit card as well.

The inconvenience!!! The embarrassment! Kindly explain yourselves!

Turns out that Standard didn't trust a purchase for R78 at Amazon Kindle where I very often buy e-books. Reason given that card was not present. On Amazon? Card not present? You don't say. This is taking paranoia to a whole new level.
