Credit Card closed without client authorisation

On the 16th of April I lodged a claim with Credit life insurance for my VAF account. However, I was informed that I seemed to not have been a policy registered for it and they could only pick up my credit card account instead. The consultant advised that they had successfully app**** a claim for the credit card. However, that was not my claim so I instructed them to remove that claim as I actually did not even owe a cent on it. A week later (21 Apr) I receive an email from an agent (Fikile) instructing me that the claim has been approved. Again, I instructed her to cancel as that was not even what my claim was related to. She on the same day forwards a request to another agent (Ronny) to remove the debit order stop that would have been going off my account to pay for any ourstanding balances (which again were non-existent) and provided confirmation that this debit order stop had been removed. The confirmation requested from my side was I would pay any outstanding balances and the card would not be blocked - which I was totally happy with.

Now today I try and use my credit card and realise that it's not working and the call centre tells me my account was closed so I need to re-apply and go through the entire process of acquiring a card again? Now that's totally unacceptable!! Not only that, but to close an account without even consulting a client is pure disregard to the client-bank relationship. Your consultants showed evidence of not being able to follow simple instructions and I will not be subjected to long processes because of the Bank's negligence.

I would really appreciate a swift resolution to this matter and will NOT allow myself to be subjected to an application process again, particularly when I have held that Credit card for more than 6yrs without any issues.
