Credit Card charges 4 years after account closed

<p>Just got a call from Nimble Group advising me that I have a outstanding balance on my Standard Bank credit card. I found this quite hard to believe since all my Standard Bank accounts were closed over 3 years ago. When I asked what the outstanding balance was they advised that is was credit card fee charges .ie no purchases and all the charges are post the account closures. 4 accounts and 4 credit cards but this one credit card account did not get closed and accumulated charges. Surely when you notify the branch of the account closures and to cancel all cards this is completed. How does one actually check that the bank has closed the accounts and that no more charges are being levied to those accounts. ?</p>
