Credit Card and Cheque account

<p>Hi,</p> <p> </p> <p>My mother had a standard bank cheque account. In November 2016 she settled the overdraft went to close the cheque account. Because she has std bank insurance, the consultatnt suggested that she opens a savings account where the policy could deduct funds from as the chequea account was closed. In december, she was charged interest on the account. So she went to pay it and asked me to call standard bank because she closed the account and yet is still charged interest. </p> <p>Since then my mother has been receiving statements that she owes interest into the account that she closed. Now yesterday she received another statement stating that she owes R508 on the account. She is not going to pay that and the ampount keeps on going up every month. </p> <p> </p> <p>What else does she need to do? She will not be paying the R508 for an account that was closed. </p> <p> </p> <p>Thank you. </p> <p> </p>
