CREDIT CARD AMOUNT NEVER CLEARED WHEN REPLACEMENT CARD WAS ISSUED
I checked my credit score after I was told by a financial institution that although I have a good credit score I should try and bring my credit cards down and I thought this cannot be. I then started to enquire as I only have one credit card.
Then after lengthy investigations visits to Standard Bank on the 24th of January 2018 we realised that when a previous credit card was stopped by them on the 29th of October 2015 due to a ********** transaction on the internet the card balance was never cleared when carried over to the new credit card account issued. The bank manager at Standard Bank Linton Grange Port Elizabeth Geraldine Nguta promised that they will clear the old credit card with immediate affect and issue is letter stating that I only have one credit card with Standard Bank. The letter was forwarded to me but still the balance on the old credit card still shows outstanding and after contacting the ***** department they informed me that the last day this request number: ********** 324 was worked on was on the 30th of January 2018 and that no further action has been taken thus far.
In the meanwhile my credit score is still affected as even though a letter was issued by Standard Bank indicating that I only have one credit card experian and transunion still pick up both cards when my credit records are updated on a monthly basis, so the letter is useless and means nothing to me. I have been in contact via email with the bank / bank manager and now I am ignored and nothing is done about the situation.
I was informed by a colleague that I should contact the ombudsman of banking. I am so frustrated ... STANDARD BANK YOU'VE DONE ME IN BEFORE YOU GUYS SUCK... TWICE BITTEN...
