COVID19 Issues and Standard Bank

We all know with the developments of the COVID19 Pandemic, various institutions like banks and home-loan institutions are granting their customers payment holidays. Standard Bank was the first to offer this but only to business who have business loans and students on their student loan repayments. I was so happy to see my bank offer this but then the pandemic worsened and resulted in South Africa's lockdown. My company closed temporarily as we are not essential services and no work, means no pay. I am not retrenched. I still have a job, I just don't have income. YET, upon contacting standard bank regarding this and their debt protection insurance I have on both my credit facilities, I was told I needed a retrenchment letter from my employer. How even??!! I'm not retrenched. They also did not offer any holiday payments to the regular customer. Now I sit with the worry of commiting my first non payment, which could result in an "arrears" tag on my name as well as decreasing my credit score which I've been working so hard to keep good. I hope they can step up to the table like the other banks of S.A has.
