could you move my debit order date

I have been having a run-in with Standard Bank Vehicle Finance for a while now. Just to be clear, im no saint in the matter, however here goes: I have one troublesome debit order, for some reason i set the debit order to go off on the first, whereas i get paid on the 25th. For reasons best known to no one, i just forget about this debit order and end up investing 'my' cash into a side hustle. Come the 3rd, i receive a call from Standard bank collections or something, and on all occasions, i ask that the debit order be moved to the 25th. Herein lies my problem, I am told month in month out that the debit order date can only be changed when my account is not behind on payments. Fair enough, however, from where i am sitting, this is a limitation of Standard bank systems, i have no clue why someone would put such a restriction. And what i feel right now is, the people in the department make it a point that i feel like trash on the call. My assumption is that the department is supposed to be stern and firm as we are talking of defaulters. And the recent experience messed up the rest of my day hence the complaint. However, as discussed on the call, this is my 5th time ending up in the collections department, and in my mind, all i could think of was, this is my 5th time asking for a debit order date to be changed, im sure you record calls, be my guest and go through all 5 calls. So being a custodian of Standard bank monies, i would think it would make sense realising that i have a problem, and one that the collections department can do themselves a favour as well as me a favour by simply changing my debit order when they eventually receive my debit order. Why dont i do it myself if you would ask. well, Standard Bank has been an institution that has helped me a lot with funding, i truly appreciate it, however, one thing that has been evident is that i haven't been able to remember to call after i have paid up the account. and being reminded that this is the fifth time that my payment is late, i would like to throw the ball back into your court and if it means changing your system to allow me to change the debit order date whenever i feel like, so be it, if not, i have run into a similar problem with the credit card department, once i think, and the people there had smiles on their faces, and offered to do an eft on my behalf on the agreed date, and that brought my account up to date without needing me to call again. so i believe it is possible that changes are made to my account if i give the instruction without requiring me to call again. i wont even mention the hoops that one goes through to get to the right department when calling. the experience yesterday led me to enquire with discovery bank and it turns out the bank may be an option for me to move my accounts, im now just waiting to assess what they offer me so i can make a not so emotional decision. in as much as i owe you 1 debit order, i feel i have given you very good business as well over the years, and again I appreciate what the bank has done for me, however, it may be time to reconsider
