It was not a fairy tale and eventually after 18 months of agony with Standard bank (check your records at Bayside branch you will see what I mean) I finally managed to rebuy my own house. This house has been in my own name in payment and in account since that day. The only mass irritation I had since then has been that Standard Bank Insurance is incapable of taking my ex's name from their household insurance coverage docs, so I send an email once a year complaining - to which i never get a response. However, that document is sent to me and me alone, so whatever.
