Complaint Regarding ********* Conduct
To whom it may concern,
Complaint Regarding ********* Conduct by Mpho Nemavhola (Moyo) Employee at Standard Bank, The Mall @ Reds
We are writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the ********* behavior exhibited by Mpho Nemavhola, an employee at Standard Bank, The Mall @ Reds, who is involved in our society group, Wise, Modern and Young Society for Mutual Friends.
On May 4, 2023, we established the society with the intention of raising funds for various purposes, including burials, weddings, and other events. The group was structured around a joining fee of R100, with a monthly contribution of R100. As the society was new, we faced challenges opening a bank account, and members initially made the joining fee payments into one of the members personal account. However, the group operated in good faith, and by January 2024, all members agreed to continue using a personal account temporarily while awaiting the opening of the official society bank account.
In 02 July 2024, we introduced a loan system to help the society grow, offering loans to members with a 20% interest rate. Mpho Nemavhola was one of the first to take a loan from the group, borrowing R1500 the same day . She paid back the full amount, including interest total amount was R1800 on the 3 August 2024.
On 23 August 2024, Mpho borrowed another R1500, despite multiple attempts by the group to talk to her and resolve the matter, she failed to repay the loan. This failure to honor her financial commitment is not only ********* but also deeply disappointing, especially considering her position at Standard Bank, where financial responsibility and ethics are paramount.
Mpho Nemavhola subsequently exited the society's WhatsApp group and displayed a lack of accountability when asked to resolve the issue. Despite numerous attempts to communicate with her, adding her back to the group, she remained dismissive and uncooperative, refusing to apologize or make restitution. Her conduct demonstrated a clear disregard for the group’s rules and for the trust placed in her by the other members.
In addition to her actions in the Wise, Modern and Young Society, Mpho is also a member of another savings group “JanNoWorry”which we play together, in which the rules dictate that any unpaid debts from the group members, will be deducted from the individual’s “JanNoWorry”savings.
After she failed to repay the loan, she attempted to withdraw all of her contributions from the JanNoWorry savings contacting the group admin privately, contrary to the group’s rules, as withdrawals are not permitted during the course of the year. Her request was denied, Mpho resorted to threats, claiming that the money belonged to her husband and attempting to intimidate the group by implying her husband is dangerous and we shouldn’t mess up with him.
On January 1, 2025, Mpho’s savings from the “JanNoWorry”group were deposited into her account, with a deduction of R3000 to cover the outstanding loan of R1500 and 20% interest for 5 months. Despite this, her husband, Rendani Nemavhola, contacted the group admin and treasurer and threatened them, going so far as to involve the Tshisole gangster group in Venda. This behavior escalated the situation to an unacceptable level of ************ and harassment. one of the Tshisole Gangster Members, Patric Lalami contracted the group committe and threatened us by sending the Gangsters Pictures and stating that he knows our address and he will pay us a visit that night. But to our surprise Patric didn’t pitch, but Mpho’s dad pitched the same night on the 1st January 2025 at the group’s admin home in Venda.
During a confrontation with Mpho's father, we explained the story to him, further substantiated by the fact that the society had previously contributed financially to the funeral of Mpho’s baby daddy, even though he was not her husband, out of goodwill from the group members own funds, R1000 was sent to her. The group had shown nothing but support for Mpho, yet she repaid this kindness with dishonesty and manipulation.
Given these events, we are left with serious concerns about Mpho Nemavhola's professional conduct, both within her personal associations and in her role at Standard Bank. If an employee of a financial institution displays such a lack of integrity and ethical responsibility, it casts doubt on their ability to handle clients' financial matters with the care and professionalism expected from a bank employee.
We kindly request that you look into this matter. We hope that Standard Bank will address this serious issue, as it reflects poorly on the institution, and we believe that no one, especially an employee of your organization, should be allowed to act in such an ********* manner.
We look forward to your response and appreciate your attention to this matter.
Sincerely, Wise,Morden and Young Society +27 (73) ***
