Collision with Standard Bank Employee - 3rd party insurance claim Old Mutual Insure and Standard Bank

A Standard Bank staff member driving a Standard Bank Company vehicle collided with my husband on 16 November 2018. The staff member took his time to provide details for a 3rd party claim. Standard Bank Insurance informed us that their insurer is OM Insure and provided me with the policy number. Keeping in mind that by this time we were already in December 2018. From our first call to OM Insure requesting requirements for a 3rd party claim we received incomplete information. Even though it was the festive season we obtained the quotes and forwarded the documents. By February 2018 Valencia MOKAE at OM Insure could not contact their client. We had tried to contact him – unsuccessfully. I asked Asiya at Standard Bank Insurance to contact him and was told that was not possible. Keep in mind that Standard Bank Insurance was copied in all communications with Old Mutual Insure. After the numerous emails and telephone calls we appointed an attorney in February 2019 to deal with the claim. Eventually Old Mutual Insure contacted their client. It seems that their client’s (Standard Bank) employee, Mr Siva Veerasamy, and my husband’s statements are conflicting. We were asked to provide an independent witness affidavit and my attorney provided it at the beginning of October 2019 to Valencia. When Valencia was contacted on 22 October 2019 for an update regarding the claim she requested “Please forward us your independent witness statement to corroborate your version” It is November 2019, a few days short of a year, since the accident and no vehicle. We do not have a spare vehicle parked that we can use. It has been months of inconvenience and astounding travelling costs. I would really like to know if the matter will ever be finalised.
