Cold hearted manageress
I stood in line for 45 minutes to collect a debit card on behalf of my 86 year old parent. The existing card expired in March and we were informed to collect a new one. As my elderly mom is seriously ill in bed, she signed a letter giving me power of attorney to collect the card on her behalf. When my number was finally called, I was informed by the manageress of Standard bank Bedford centre, Ms Ursula Naidoo, that they are unable and unwilling to assist, as the bank runs the risk of being held liable should the card get lost or ****** while in my possession. I made it clear that my 86 year old mother is unable to visit the branch, hence asking for my help with written authority and their (bank`s) understanding & assistance. All futile, as Ms Naidoo refused to see the merit in the matter or assist. We will be closing all Standard bank accounts and advise friends , collogues and family to do so too.
This is not the level of service we strive for. We understand your frustration and would like to help.
We can assure you that your matter is now in the right hands. We have escalated this matter to our Branch Leadership team.
We will be in touch with further feedback.
