Client privacy concerns

I just received a phone call from a telemarketer that admitted that Standard Bank shared my plane ticket purchase details with the company she works for. She sells travel insurance. How safe is my legal financial transactions when the bank shares information like this? Is this legal? Will Standard Bank in response to this produce very fine print where I apparently authorized them to do so? in the end, this was not explained to me. Hello CPA!
