Claim taking almost two months and poor feedback
I submitted a fire damage claim to my kitchen in July 2015. First I was told that I will have to get two quotes for the repairs. After explaining to the assessors that I am unable to obtain the quotes as there aren't suitable contractors in the area that will assist, they agreed to send out someone to quote.

The company they used for quoting, gave a quote to replace only the burned cupboards, and because the wood that the original cupboards are made from is no longer in production, I was told that they will have to use a different wood finish.

After I told the assessor that I do not want different types of wood in my cupboards, I was told that my policy does not provide for that.

On 18 August I sent a letter to National Adjusters(assessors) to explain the consept of indemnity insurance(being a legal adviser myself). My letter was acknowledged and I was told that it will be sent to Standard Bank Insurers for feedback. Today 8 September I'm still waiting for feedback.

I lost my tennant as a result of the kitchen being unusable and I am struggling to get new tennants to take a house with a burned down kitchen. My last request for a reponse was sent on 31Aug - no reply!
