claim declined for storm damage

I moved into my new home in October 2014 and didn't realize the roof was leaking until the 16 February 2015 when it stormed in joburg. I am now being told the roof was not proper and the claim is rejected.<br> <br> The contractor came last week thursday but I get feedback when I call them today.<br> <br> <br> Was I supposed to climb the roof when I bought the house to check if its in good condition? <br> I'm not a builder, what do I know about roofs? <br> When I app**** for the home loan why didn't they tell me to check the roof first?<br> <br> <br> I am highly disappointed in Standard bank but then again, they are just proving to me why I need to leave them.<br> <br> SERVICE MEANS NOTHING TO STANDARD BANK
