Cheque cards create ********* revenue

When using cheque cards for POS transactions, Standard Bank does not reserve the funds and simply waits for the merchant do bank their machine. This could take more than 60 days. On the day when the merchant banks the machine, the accumulated debits may push you into negative balances and standard bank charges you penalties for dishonour fees. At the time of the transaction there were funds but their inefficient process causes consumers to pay penalty fees because the bank does not debit on the date the consumer instructs.

If you tell the branch they simply give you a debit card but fail to inform you that the bundled transactions do not apply in debit cards. Cheque cards are only eligible yet you run the risk of paying R100 's in dishonour fees

# fail your customer
