Cash Jam since Dec 2019

I deposited R1600 into my own Standard Bank account on 27 Dec 2019 at Kolonade and there was a cash jam. The money was retained by the machine but did not reflect in my account.

I immediately called the call center and logged the issue. I was told that it cannot be solved in 2019 still and I accepted that. The due date given for resolution was 03 Jan 2020.

Needless to say, I'm writing this review because the issue has not been resolved and I am still without my money even after going into the branch and call center. I have savings, a credit card and other funds available so I am still okay financially but wonder what happens to those who are desperate and have no other alternatives. Standard Bank does not take such situations seriously and because Standard Bank it not a person, you spend hours on hold and getting sent from pillar to post.

Standard Bank does not even have the decency to follow-up to explain how long before the issue resolved. What baffles me is that ATMs are cleared almost daily by the custodian so the custodian at Kolonade chose to not follow up on whose money got stuck when depositing. Reference number ***.
