Cash deposit at ATMs impossible!

Why do Standard bank even advertise free ATM deposits as part of your account when its literally impossible to use this method? The machines are useless, if you cna find one that is meant to be capable of this function. Since they dumped the envelope method (which I never had an issue with, and which their out dated website still refers to as the method used!) I have not been able to successfully complete a cash deposit. The first time was a while ago and the machine swallowed all the cash so I had to go into the branch and wait a week for them to sort it out. Today I tried at Claremont (Cape Town) again and it failed miserably as I expected it would! I flattened the notes so not one had a 'dog ear' or a crease and fed a perfect neat pile, but nope, the machine could not handle it and rejected them (returning some creased and probably close to jamming itself up). So frustrating and the bank teller charges are a total ******* as the only alternative left. You might as well not have this so called cash deposit option as a service as Im sure 99% of people cannot use it! Maybe one or two brand new crisp notes will work. I bet I could withdraw cash and then try redeposit the same notes and it would fail.... pathetic equipment
