Card declining in all the shops

My son was one of the players attending St Stithians Easter Sports Festival, which was sponsored by Standard Bank from 24 - 28 March 2016. He was a given a standard Bank card that you could load money on and buy during the festival. He was also advised that he can use the card at any point of sale within South Africa. About R 160 was remaining at the card. <br> <br> He has tried in all the shops but the card declined. He went to Standard Bank in Woodlands Mall and they told him that they know nothing about this card. We phoned the number at the back of the card ***. They promised to call us back within 48 hours, and until now no one has bothered. can someone assist please. I also don't understand why would Standard Bank run a marketing campaign of this sort whilst the staff at the branch knows nothing about it
