Cannot close the account

I am currently under debt councelling and old creditors keep on trying to debit my account when they no longer should. I have spent the last two months trying to stop these debit orders, and am now trying to close my Standard Bank account and am told that if anyone tries to debit me, that debit order will force open the account and I will be charged bank charges.<br> <br> Can somebody please tell me what I need to do in order to stop these debit orders. Because the story keeps changing.
