Can the bank around here please raise their hand?

My bank card was issued with an expiry date, which is the end of Jan. When I went to the bank yesterday to get my new card, I was greeted with confusion.

I bank at the Church Street Branch in Potchefstroom and to say they had a make over is an understatement. When you enter the bank there is a sign 'please take a ticket'. However there is nowhere to 'take a ticket' - you have to request it from a person behind a computer. Can the sign then rather say 'please ask for a ticket'? Having received a ticket you have absolutely no idea where to go. The lounge is situated behind a wall (behind the person behind the computer), but there is no indication of it. So you walk around until you spot it and then you take a seat. And wait. I'd rather stand in a queue and be helped than sit around wasting time. Free WIFI is not a bank's purpose, but I suppose this is to distract your attention from the time you sit there and to keep people with smart phones occupied.

When I told the agent that my card is expiring, she didn't understand me and asked what was wrong with my card. After a while on the computer and leaving the desk, she told me that my card was not ordered and that it would take 3-7 business days. I asked what I should do as my card is expiring, she told me to use my debit card. When I told her that the debit card was for another account she proceeded to check to the accounts were linked. I appreciate the fact that she did this, but where is my ever growing monthly banking fees going? For new couches, WIFI and stupid internet banking sites and apps? Why should the customer inform the bank of their duties? And why must I make a return trip (transport costing what it does nowadays) because the bank *****ed up? If I had been at fault of not providing a customer with something I would see that it gets delivered as soon as possible.

Stop trying to be what you're not (communications provider and coffee shop) and deliver what a bank should - banking facilities and service.
