Can't open OST account without SBSA drama!!
I started opening an Online share trade (OST) account with Standard Bank on 7 Jan 2016, the online application was easy and straightforward.

Next day I got a mail from OST that said I need to courier proof of residence to them, which I did the next day. When they received it they said that I need to get it certified and then send it to them again????

My problem is this:
1) Why don't you communicate this clearly upfront?

2) How do I certify an account that is printed out from my printer at home? Do I print 2 copies from my printer and then take it to the police station to get it certified? How stupid is this process?

I then asked for a manager to call me - I am still waiting.

Then they respond and say I can forward them the account that shows my physical address to them but the e-mail must also show who sent it. This was done.

Then on Sunday 17 Jan 2016 I receive another e-mail from them stating that I need to send certified copies via courier again.

Since when is it a FICA requirement to get your proof of residence certified?

This is appalling service yet again from Standard Bank.
