*****? *****? *****?
Yesterday standard bank decided to block my credit card for ***** because I used Uber. Yes, you read that correctly, I dared to rely on Uber to get around so Standard Bank decided (while I'm out the house) to block my card and potentially forcing me to be stranded with no money.
I tried contacting live chat and was told by ntateko they can't assist me for reporting *****. Seems he's retarded and only uses templates. Sub par service for a prestige banker who wants to knock off for the day. I call in and speak to someone who insists I listen to her repeat my recent transactions that I've told her from the beginning of the call were all made by me but no she insists, wasting my time, delaying card activation while I'm in an already difficult situation.
Considering I travel internationally from time to time, what assurance do I have that standard bank won't randomly decide some sort of ***** has occurred and block it while I'm in a foreign country??
Why am I paying over R400 a month for this blatant disregard for me as an individual? My safety, my security and my wellbeing? ***** me because I don't have a car, right?
So after just upgrading my account and moving all my banking to standard bank, I'll be closing my accounts and moving anywhere else. I can't risk being put at risk again
