Bul**** by Exectrix of a deceased estate

A house is the most expensive purchase and for a middle-income household is a huge commitment. We bought a house through a deceased estate and standard bank are the acting Exectrix's of the estate. We have been living in the house paying occupational rent and the house has been wrought with problems since we first moved in. These are our concerns:

• The electric fence has no certificate of compliance and despite what the law of the land says that there must be an Electrical compliance certificate for the electric fence, the executrix has said that we signed the purchase documents and bought the house foots toots. Regardless of that, the law of the land supersedes any contract but we feel we are being bul**** by the Exectrix because of the sheer brute size and force of the backing by Standard Bank. • Our other concern was that although there was a COC for the property, the pool was connected to an ******* power source. We do not believe that a valid Electrical compliance was done and would like to have our own electrician evaluate the electrical wiring in the house as we have had the electricity trip quite a number of times. • Every time it rains, all the toilets in the bottom of the house flood from beneath the plumbing through the toilets. • We’ve tried everything to get the municipality in to resolve a blockage so that the plumber can send his cameras to see what the problem is. There is no push coming from the Executrix to sort this out. • The Exectrix is threatening us by saying we will lose the house and our deposit if we do not sign the transferring documents. I am concerned that if we sign, we will have no leg to stand on. We've paid a deposit of R330 000. • We are nervous to sign as thus far, we find that the Executrix of the estate has acted *********ly and used the clout of a huge Standard Bank to bully us into accepting her terms as well as an *******ly connected plumbing system, an ******* non-existent COC for the fence and a questionable COC for the main house. The plumber suspects that the plumbing has been connected to the storm water drain. Please can we ask that someone intervene and stand up for the man on the street.
