Bug in Standard Bank ATM

My 88 year old mother has just been de*****ed at the Epsom Downs Standard Bank ATM. The guy leaned across the front of her and pressed a button and she couldn't get her card back and because she was so shaken she went home and then stopped her cards but he had already ****** her pension money. Apparently what these lowlives do is to press the lost and ****** cards button. This then disables the owner from transacting and holds the card. When the owner has left, they come back and can then apparently cancel the lost and ****** card option. The pin is already in the machine and they then help themselves to your money as if it was their card. What a convenient bug to have in your ATM machines for ******!! I did try to get hold of the ***** department to tell them this but it was a 10 minute wait and I was fifty somethingth in the queue so I figured I'd tell Standard Bank on Hello Peter since I discovered a while ago that if they get a hello peter report they read it and a person from standard bank sometimes even CALLS YOU BACK! A solution is that if a customer presses 'Lost and ****** cards' button, the machine should have a popup that says 'You will not be able to get your card back. Are you sure' and then if you press YES, the machine should permanently swallow your card and terminate the transaction. If the customer doesn't press anything for say 1 minute, the machine should also permanently swallow your card and terminate the transaction. Especially at this time of year.

Another option is that as soon as they select 'Lost and ****** cards' option, they can do whatever is required but as soon as they cancel this option, the transaction is terminated and the card is returned. Then the guy has the card but at least he doesn't have the pin. This means that if the customer made a legitimate mistake in pressing the wrong option, they can start their transaction again and they haven't lost their card...but to still have the pin in the machine after this has been cancelled is just asking for trouble!

We do have a case number with your ***** department, however I wanted to tell you how these ****** are managing to do this so you can address it on your ATMs as this is a loophole they're taking advantage of. If someone selects 'lost ****** cards' option that should be an instant warning that something ***** is happening and the machine should not be allowing another transaction on the same pin entry... at the very least ...so someone *****ed standing there doesn't get to use the pin. There are vulnerable people using these ATMs who can't fight off someone large leaning across them. Your ATMs should never have a loophole like that.
