Bond Cancellation a nightmare with my name being blacklisted despite settling the shortfall
I had a bond with Standard Bank that I took in 2013 and decided to sell the house in September 2018. As a first time buyer, I did not understand the issue of a shortfall especially when the attorneys paid me back some money from the sale. I discovered that I had a shortfall in February 2019 when I wanted to purchase property again but at that time I was informed that Standard Bank had blacklisted me. I immediately contacted them in which they informed me the balance that I needed to settle. Within a day, I paid all the money and received a paid up letter from them (upon my request).
Two months after settling the amount, I am told that Standard Bank has not removed my name from the credit listing. I have contacted them a number of times requesting that they resolve this matter and was asked to furnish information (pertaining to the paid up letter they initially sent to me). To this date, I am still awaiting for feedback from their consultants of when my name will be removed. This clearly demonstrates how standard bank is not willing to put people first. Their service is so bad that at times when I contact them the line is dropped and no one contacts me even when I send emails to the homeloans division. I have limited time offered for me to get this property and as it stands because of Standard Bank inefficiency administration, I stand a chance of losing out on this deal.
