Blocked account for no reason, didn't even notify me

I'm at boiling point at this moment. I'm awaiting a payment to be made into my standard bank account for half a month already and they keep notifying me that the payment has been rejected but they can't get an answer from Standard Bank as to why. Low and behold I went out of my way like an idiot getting statements, which I paid again for, and proof of my banking details at the Autoplus. Payment rejected again by Standard bank and this was at the end of the month. I'm stressing as my d/o's will go off and I will incur cost if there is no money in my account, and low and behold Standard Bank kept rejecting payments to my account. I've incurred cost now which I'm not willing to pay and the money will only be paid into my account on the 3rd of April, which I'll have to wait another 24hrs for. I phoned Standard bank to ask why they kept rejecting payment being made to my account, and this absolute sarcastic snotty woman (can't remember her name) asks me stupid questions and finally after her (please hold it won't take that long) 20 min wait she comes back to me telling me my account was blocked by the Reserve Bank for no reason, but they unblocked it and payment can now be made? ***?!!! Why would they block my account and not notify me? Why the hell can't they just give me a better explenation and be honest and say: "hey someone messed up". Tomorrow the money should be in my account and wont' be available and again I will be incurring more costs as my money will be reflecting (hopefully) but not be available. When asking the agent again why they blocked my account, she was quick to say (and rude I might add) that it was not them who blocked my account. Then get me the reserve bank on the line, because my account is with Standard Bank!! They are my service provider! I'm refusing to pay the cost I've incurred for D/O's returning and I'm refusing to wait or pay for having my money be available once it's paid into my account. I will be phoning them tomorrow to ensure my account hasn't been blocked again and I'm not leaving the matter there. Looking at another bank unless Standard Bank can pull their fingers out of their bums, take accountablility and fix this ****** mess!!

Reviewer Update

I phoned Standard Bank this morning and was assisted by an agent (wish I took his name down). Very friendly and polite. Took accountability and assisted me. He did confirm my account wasn't blocked anymore and he will logged a request for the service charge (for returned d/o) to be refunded due to the error made. He couldn't advise me as to why the account was blocked, but he apologized for the inconvenience caused which was actually what I wanted. Even when I blew my top, he was cool, calm and collected and answered me professionally and without getting rude. It calmed me down and yes I feel a bit ashamed at being rude, but he could here it came out of a place of frustration. Still waiting for my monies that will be paid in today and I might consider staying with Standard Bank after my telephonic interaction with that agent. Working in a call centre isn't fun I understand, dealing with difficult clients (such as myself but for valid reasons) is though but the way the agent composed himself and actually handled the situation I take my hat off to him. If the call centre can trace my call with him and thank him for keeping his cool and helping me I would appreciate it. Still waiting on a response to why my account was blocked for no reason and why nobody at the call centre can tell me, unless this is not information they are equipped with.
