Blocked account

This is the second time in 2 years my account has been blocked ! . 10 years ago I left South Africa to come back to the UK to look after elderly parents ,tax clearance was obtained and funds returned to the UK , only problem was a insurance policy which had a few years before maturity this took nearly 2 years for the bank to sort out. Now approx 3 months ago my debit card stopped working at UK ATMs , contacted the bank to be told pop into your local standard bank to obtain a updated debit card HELLO I AM IN THE UK .My first problem took 20 different people to sort out this time i have been dealing with only one person who suggested i close the account and send the funds ( 30,000 rand ) back to the UK Ok lets do that ,filled in countless forms ect now this standard bank employee has dissapeared off the radar dispite numerous emails no response . My daughter still lives in SA so I thought close the account and transfer the funds into her account only to find the transfer limit has been reduced to zero. My advice to all standard bank customers who are thinking of leaving SA is to take every cent out of your account and close it or face a uphill battle later .Standard Bank must have millions of expat rands in frozen accounts

Just a thought for the standard bank big boys and customer service if there is such a thing when i left SA 10 years ago one of your cashiers made a huge **** up and made a transfer error of R300,000 into my account my Uk bank refused point blank to give it back I was still in SA at the time and was treated like a king by standard bank , I did the right thing and gave you your R300,000 back please give me my 30,000 John Lees
