Block Bank account without notification

I discovered this morning when going onto Banking app then onto internet banking (to double check) that my accounts had \disappeared". I first thought that perhaps my account had been hacked. <br> Upon phoning the call centre - I was told that my account had been blocked because I hadn't supp**** FICA document as per sms sent. I rep**** that I hadn't received any sms. <br> This began an over an hour backwards and forwards discussion - being put through to numerous departments. To be told the only way this block could be lifted was if I came into bank and brought the documents. Added to that after speaking to a supervisor I was told that the reason it had taken me an hour was because they were experiencing high call volumes???? <br> They checked their records as I demanded proof of communication sent - to be told that no notification had been sent to me????? And they apologise but I still have to come in to with FICA docs to get my account unblocked????? I had submitted the requested docs in 2014.<br> So it seems that the bank can just block ones account without any regard or checking with the account holder first. I'm appalled at this. Never mind the hour and half it took out of my day."""
