Billed for a card exchange without being told
Good day,

My name is Binta. My market link card was swallowed by an ATM a few weeks back. Due to time I was unable to go into the bank for a new one. I got a chance on Friday 15-04-2016, besides the card being taken by the ATM i received a message from Standard bank telling me I need to come upgrade my card. I told the consultant what I was there for and asked that she please ensures that nothing on my account changes, the daily limit, internet banking and all. She ensured me that all will remain in order. She changed my card, did not mention anything about R130 that I was charged. I leave the branch. When I get home I try to do cellphone banking, it did not work, tried internet banking, it didn't work as wll. Fast forward to Monday. I contact the call center. I get assisted to re instate my internet banking and bang there is R130 charged that I was not aware of. Had my cellphone banking not been deactivated I would have been able to query it right there at the branch. After being transferred from one section to the other, I'm told I have to go back to the branch to query. Really after spending 30 minutes on the line :-(. Am so disappointed at the service
